The House

Timber, stone, and glass — assembled in silence.

Larch from the valley's own slopes, basalt quarried an hour up the pass, and twelve metres of structural glass facing due south across the water. The house was raised over two winters, when the lake road closes and sound carries — so the work was done quietly, by hand, panel by panel. What stands now holds its heat the way the mountain holds the evening light: slowly, and without effort.

Completed after two winters — architect-led, single commission

Two Seasons

In summer the lake is the front garden — swim from the jetty before breakfast. In winter the pistes begin eleven minutes from the door, and the house keeps the fire lit.
