The STRATA Calibre 01 dial in raking light

Chapter 01 — The Dial

Grained silver, nothing painted

The dial is a disc of solid silver, grained by hand with a boxwood brush. Markers are solid brass batons, mirror-lapped and pressed in — not printed. Under low light it reads like stone; under sun, like sand.

The STRATA in-house movement, brass bridges and blued screws

Chapter 02 — The Movement

Thirty-one jewels, one signature

Calibre 01 beats at 28,800 vph behind sapphire. Bridges are untreated brass, left to mellow with the decades, and every movement is signed by the single watchmaker who assembled it.

The STRATA Calibre 01 worn on the wrist

Chapter 03 — The Wrist

38.5 mm, and it disappears

Ten millimetres thin, 62 grams on calf leather. Lugs curve to a 46 mm span, so it sits flat on wrists most sports watches ignore. You stop noticing it — until someone else does.

The STRATA atelier bench in Le Locle

Chapter 04 — The Atelier

Eleven hands in Le Locle

One bench, eleven people, about forty watches a month. Every Calibre 01 returns to the same bench for service, for as long as the company stands. We plan on standing a while.
