The NORD observatory dome on an alpine ridge at blue hour

Alpine Public Observatory — 2,340 m

NORD

The darkest sky within three hours of the city.

A dense star field over the ridge, the Milky Way faintly visible

Three figures named by the first keepers of the ridge — drawn each night, scroll by scroll.

Guided Nights

One telescope. Fourteen chairs.

The main refractor telescope inside the NORD dome, lit faintly red
Thursday — Saturday

The night is guided, never hurried.

Each session begins at the eyepiece of the 60 cm refractor and ends outside, under the open sky, with the lights of the valley switched off behind the ridge. A keeper walks the group through whatever the night offers — planets, doubles, the old figures of the ridge. Dress warmly; we provide the blankets and the silence.
