Sunlight breaking through a tall green forest canopy

Forest School — Ages 5–12

CANOPY

School, but outside.

What we believe

Three ways in

Pick a path. Get muddy.

Forest Days

Ages 5–8 · Weekly

A full day under the trees, every week, all year. Den-building, tracking, tree maths, story circles — and yes, the rain days are the famous ones.

Creek Science

Ages 8–12 · Term blocks

Nets, notebooks, and very wet boots. We measure flow, count caddisflies, and learn why the creek is a better lab than any lab.

Fire & Knots

Ages 9–12 · Saturdays

Real skills, real tools, real supervision. Flint and steel, whittling, lashings, and the quiet pride of a fire you lit yourself.

Look closer

The smallest things teach the biggest lessons.

A beetle under bark. The pattern in a fern. Why moss only grows on one side. Our educators are trained to slow children down — because attention, it turns out, is the whole curriculum.

Seasonal camps

Summer smells like woodsmoke.

Four times a year the school becomes a camp — five-day adventures with shelters to build, trails to map, and marshmallows to negotiate over. Camps fill from the waitlist first.

“Can we stay five more minutes?” — every child, every day, since we opened.

Enrolment

Small groups, big woods. Places open each season.
